Hoppy Easter!

Yes, the Hallam family is as perfect (and good-looking!) as they look in their holiday cards and I am lucky enough to have spent several holidays with the delightful Hallam family over the past 4 years!. The homemade macaroni is always amazing. Meemaw's mermaid earrings always adds an extra flare to every gathering. Carly's 10-year-old brother's beat poetry is highly entertaining and her cousin's chihuahua Crouton is always sporting a freshly made makeover (i.e. shaven mohawk, painted nails, dyed pink). Easter is always a favorite of mine; past Easters have even included a tequila shot tennis tournament. While tennis matches were placed with games of croquet, this Easter was extra special as we all rejoiced at church early Sunday morning to sing an unforgettable rendition of "Hallelujah!" Greg provided a memorable blessing and Aunt Travis and Tammy cooked an unbelievable feast! Stuffed of chocolate bunnies and mimosas , this Easter left us dreaming of the surprise in Carly's Easter basket...

One! Two! Three!

The fabulous Miss Kate turned three today! Rhonda and Kevin (Kate's Mom and Dad) hosted a fantastic Hello Kitty! birthday party complete with an Easter egg hunt, burgers, homemade cake and cupcakes, and lots of presents! She was particularly excited about her new three-story doll house. I must say I may have been equally excited for the new additions to Kate's already extensive collection of toys!

FLIP FLOPS AND POPSICLES

I have spent the past 3 days studying for hours on end for the HESI - a standardized nursing exam that measures your aptitude to be a nurse. In order to complete your practicum (our last part of nursing school) you must score 900 on this test. I have failed this test twice before now and took it for my third (and final) today. Nervous and fearful of not graduating May 2, I spent over five hours carefully answering all 160 questions in which I passed scoring 98% (1093!). To wish me good luck (or as she put it "get well soon" but I think she meant to say "good luck!") Kate painted me this beautiful fridge-worthy picture in which she self-titled "FLIP FLOPS AND POPSICLES!"

Sarasota Sunset

This weekend was fabulous! Carly and I drove down to Sarasota to stay with Jordan in "the real world". His condo has breathtaking views of the Sarasota Bay from fourteen floors up. We ate at a fabulous sushi restaurant Friday and cooked our own dinner breaking in Jordan's kitchen/dining room with all organic food from Whole Foods. We spent all day Saturday shopping around St. Armand's Circle and Sunday relaxing on the soft sand at Siesta Key. I hope my real world is half as amazing as his...
