M.F.T. #7: Road Trips!!

Tomorrow I am embarking on a little road trip ... As I looked back through all my photogs of road trips I have been on, I am absolutely certain that driving (+ singing at the top of my lungs) is my favorite way to see the world! Here is a little nostalgic montage of why road trips are my favorite thing #7!!
It all started in high school when I first got my license and would drive across Alligator Alley to Miami for the night after work to stay with Kara at UM ... it continued when I got to college and would make the 2 hour drive to Tallahassee to see Kara about once a month at FSU.

Moving out of South Florida to Gainesville, we were only a little over an hour to the Georgia border + conveniently, Megan's family owned a home there that was perfect for us to escape to on long weekends. (We look like babies in this picture!)
Many Florida families owned cabins in Georgia and we were always delighted to make the drive to stay in them for the weekend during reading week! =)
On occasion, we rented a minivan, spent the night in New Orleans and made it to an away game like LSU...
but we always made it to FL/GA in Jacksonville for the largest outdoor cocktail party!
Spring break was the best time for road trips ... our most memorable one... Panama City Beach!!! =)
Gainesville wasn't on the coast but the beach was only an hour away! Our fave was to drive to St. Augustine, spend the night under the stars on the beach + wake up at sunrise to (attempt to) surf!

After college, Kara + I made an awesome road trip together from Florida to Canada driving through Nashville, Birmingham, Kansas City, Omaha and St. Louis!
Then at the end of that summer, Grams + I made our way out to California through Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Reno and all down the coast of California!
California, having the most beautiful coastline and the Pacific Coast Highway to drive down along the coast, I went on many road trips!! To all the different beach towns, San Diego, San Francisco, and in to wine country several times ... this is Los Olivos: my favorite wine town.

Let's not forget about Las Vegas that was only 3.5 hours away from LA! Had many awesome nights in Vegas but this was our first road trip!

Driving from Los Angeles to Canada last year, we made a pit stop at the Grand Canyon ... breathtaking!

Can't wait to share the photographs on the road trip I am taking tomorrow ... =)
